FAQs.

Where are you from and where do you live now?

I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, where I still live with my husband and daughter. Growing up, I spent countless hours playing in the creeks, gazing at the stars, and wandering through the woods behind my home. Nature became my sanctuary, a place where I found wonder and comfort even as a young girl. Now, those memories are woven into the heart of my art, a quiet reflection of the landscapes and hidden worlds I hold dear.

When did you start making art?

I began as a little girl, drawing tiny, carefully patterned worlds as an escape into my imagination. Life back then was often chaotic, and art became a way to create my own space, where I could make choices and express feelings that felt too big to hold inside.

Early on, I discovered that art could also be a gentle way to connect with others. I’d ask questions, listen closely, and watch, then capture pieces of their stories or what mattered to them in my drawings. Through these small gestures, I found that art had the power to help people feel seen and understood—and that’s something I’ve carried with me ever since.

What materials do you use most?

I am most comfortable with a pen in my hand. I love to create crisp controlled lines and shapes and I have a hunch this is because I am a free -spirit and spontaneous by nature. My head is quite full of enormous ideas and when I draw these fine lines, pressing down firmly, I feel rooted and confident in my direction.

I have learned to love the freedom of messy paint strokes as long as I can go back and combine it with my detailed marks.

Specifically, I use:

Golden Fluid Acrylics / Liquitex Soft body Acrylics- for beautiful hues.

Derwent Inktense Ink Pencils

Ruby Satin Rounds

Princeton Velvetouch Rounds

Princeton 6300 Bright 6

Bic / Copic / Prismacolor Inks

Posca - Acrylic Markers

Birch 1.5 deep wood panels for small paintings

Fabriano Cold Press Watercolor paper

Canson Acrylic Paper

What music do you listen to while working?

I love music with strange instruments or eclectic sounds. I often play Eastern European Folk, Andrew Bird, A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Beirut, Kocani Orkestar, Django Reinhardt

What inspires your work?

I’m inspired by the journey of connection, deep curiosity, and resilience, and I have a strong connection to God, trusting more and more that there is purpose in our existence and in our connections with one another. My work captures honest human emotion and how that influences our behaviors, encouraging awareness, wisdom, and the search for meaning in both the beautiful and the challenging moments. I aim to express my voice boldly and uniquely, often writing poetry to capture my ideas and feelings, which I then translate into visual interpretations. Helping others through our gifts is both important and meaningful to me, and I hope my work inspires others to move forward with purpose and hope.
